Make Kony visible
There is no doubting that it is perfectly possible to ‘fritter away’ our time online. It can be an escape from our responsibilities or the world in which we exercise them. It can offer us a platform from which to project our ego onto an unsuspecting world, or to create an alternative version of ourselves. It can be the preserve of the vacuous, if we are not careful.
Every once in a while, though, a person comes along who realises the tremendous human potential of technology to liberate and to overturn the immovable. Jacob Russell, an American film maker, may be just such a person.
If you are interested in what you see below, then you may like to visit the full 30 minute version here. It is not without fault, it places a rather saccharine emphasis on the director’s own son for my tastes – but what does that matter? Russell is using first world technology to address a two thirds world issue, and he deserves full credit for doing so.
In the Autumn of last year I attended a fascinating session by James Poulter at CNMAC11 on the power of social media to effect change. In it he asked what Wilberforce might have done with Twitter. I think he might have joined Russell’s campaign.

This is a VERY important perspective, on the importance of love, not revenge: http://arccuganda.blogspot.com/2012/03/kony-2012-survivors-perspective.html
