We find this most comforting and rewarding. We have been involved with our church for many years even to the extent of being editors of the church magazine. For various reasons we do not attend now but miss the Eucharist.
We wish to thank you very much for rendering the service today on The Winter Garden. How is his faithfulness! We also think of the wonderful years you would have had with your late beloved wife taken away so young. We pray that God will bless her soul until we meet again to claim our crown of life.
God bless you with many years of Christian service.
Love in Christ.

I always enjoy your gentle and thoughtful R4 Daily Service contributions, and am benefitting from the honesty of your reflections in ‘Postcards’. I was sole carer for my mum until her recent home-call and through all the challenges of Alzheimer’s in lockdown. I have no close family remaining and so am already grateful for the joy and companionship of Rescue dogs (he is also Dog’s Trust) and the blessing of sound ministry from the local Baptist church. May God bless you as you continue to share the hope we find in Christ.

Comment on The last postcard? by Francis Wirgman https://archive.richardlittledale.co.uk/2018/11/07/the-last-postcard/#comment-111980 Mon, 16 Nov 2020 09:25:45 +0000 https://archive.richardlittledale.co.uk/?p=12612#comment-111980 Hello Richard
A short note to say I finished your Postcards book this morning and found your thoughtful reflections a great help. I said a prayer for you on this anniversary day that will be poignant for you. You are 3 years into your grief journey and I am just 3 months this week. It hardly seems 3 years ago that we at Bridge Church were praying for you and Fiona. 2 Cor 6:10 was in my morning reading – so may the joy from your memories of Fiona today be greater than the sadness of her passing.

Francis
PS I lived in Teddington for many years, leaving in 2000.

I’ve only just found your postcards, and wanted you to know that they are still helping people. My loss was not by death. The person I loved stopped loving me and walked away. But much of what you write still rings so true, and makes me go “I’m not the only one”. Thank you.
