Time for a cuppa?

Sociably anti-social

Not had much time for television this week so only just caught up with the latest Tetley Tea advert, which was launched on Monday. The advert, by the Dare Creative Agency, shows a young woman updating her social media page, being overwhelmed by too much digital ‘noise’, and then ditching it all in favour of some face-to-face time and a good old-fashioned cuppa. The old Tetley Tea Folk, with their flat caps,, have been ditched in favour of something much more contemporary. The message, though, is that we should all spend less time interacting online, and more time doing it face to face over a cuppa.

So far, so predictable. However, would I be right in thinking that the idea behind the commercial is that it goes viral, and that we all share it with each other online? Maybe we could even use the handy button on the Tetley website to help us!

Hmm…Maybe I should think that one through further over a cuppa…
