Sparkling Sound

Littlest Star gets the BookTrack treatment

Eighteen months ago on this blog I discussed the launch of BookTrack – an application which adds a ‘soundscape’ to books to enhance the reading experience. As I pointed out at the time, this may be a mixed blessing. Whilst it may add considerably to the the reader’s enjoyment, it runs an equal risk of spoiling it. What if the music seems wrong, or the sounds intrusive?

Since I first wrote it, my little story about the ‘Littlest Star’ has been on quite a roller coaster journey. With each new development and opportunity it has grown more precious to me. Book signings, recordings, broadcasts and readings have all added to it. How would I feel, then, when somebody gave my little story the BookTrack treatment?

When The Littlest Star was broadcast for the first time on December 23rd 2012, it came complete with musical backing…and I loved it. I am now able to offer this musical version as a download.

If you return to the homepage of this blog now and click the orange ‘donate and download’ button on the sidebar, you can buy your very own copy of this enhanced audio version of the story. To me it is a sparkling gem, and a tribute to the skill of the producer who mixed it. I hope you think so too!
