...and easy on the conscience
I know it is a wild notion, but just suppose that there were a globally succesful trilogy of young adult books on the topic of hunger. Imagine if the central premise were that food was in such scarce supply that children had to fight to the death to win supplies of it for their communities. Imagine, then, that the second book in the trilogy added another layer to the plot with an emphasis on the hollowness of consumerism and the spin of advertising. If that second book were turned into a film – what might it be appropriate to advertise on the back of it, I wonder?
